It’s a small world

This is one of my favorite quotes because it’s such a unique perspective of our lives in relation to the planet we live, and what a tiny world it is. However, it’s the only world we’ll ever really know.

humans are so cute, when we say goodbye we put our arms around each other and to show we love someone we bring them flowers. we say hello by holding each other’s hand, and sometimes tiny little dewdrops form in our eyes. for pleasure we listen to arrangements of sounds, press our lips together, smoke dried leaves, get drunk off of old fruit. we’re all just little animals, falling in love and having breakfast beneath billions of stars

It's a small world

Amazing quote of the day

“Like so many other nerdy, disaffected young people of that time, I dreamed of becoming an ‘artist’, i.e., somebody whose adult job was original and creative instead of tedious and dronelike.”
— David Foster Wallace; The Pale King

My future will be one full of traveling, adventure, books, art, tasting delicious food, exploring the wilderness, climbing mountains, and lots of writing, reading, and loving. If that makes me a “nerdy, disaffected young person”, then so be it. 🙂

Don’t Dream. PLAN.

With my study abroad adventures approaching this summer, I often get mistaken for a dreamer. I don’t know if it’s the fear my family has of me leaving the U.S. for Ireland, or the magnitude of the venture itself, but I find people making out my travel plans as if they’re a far off fantasy. Perhaps the fault is my own. When I speak of traveling, I tend to make it sound like a passive possibility.

If you don’t make traveling sound like a plan, it never will be.

Instead of saying, “If I go here,” say, “When I go here.”

If you set your heart on something and PLAN, nobody in their right mind will treat your goals as dreams.

Now go travel, little wanderer.
